BBB:
In my interview with Drew Barrymore, she gives you high marks as a kisser.
What was it like lip-locking her on Saturday Night Live?
Molly:
She's a good kisser too! We were cracking up. During dress rehearsal we
kissed a little, but during the live show (the NBC censors don't really
like two girls kissing) our censor was freaking out. It's so fun to kiss
a girl, because their faces are so soft.
BBB:
Do you remember that first time you really kissed someone?
Molly:
That would be Drew on the show! No. When I was really little, I liked
this little boy named Tom Sullivan who was very nice. I was like 6 and
we use to just go kiss in the bushes. We were really good friends...he
communicated well and met my needs... and it's been downhill ever since.
I'm kidding. I did see him again and he's still very nice.
BBB:
In Never Been Kissed, Drew's character is a major geek in school. Were
you like that? Or were you one of the cool kids?
Molly:
I was more like a leader in grade school, because I went to a small
Catholic school. I bossed the girls around. I was very nice, but I was
the leader. I'd say, "We're going to play house and I'm going to be
the mother. And you're going to be the other mother. And we're going
to pick our kids." And everybody wanted to be in my family 'cause I
was the best mother. In high school I wasn't as popular.
BBB:
Any favorite moments in high school?
Molly:
Ugh. Getting out.
BBB:
What about college?
Molly:
I went to NYU and it was great. I swear it was so much fun. I majored
in drama and met wonderful people that I work with now; Tim Hurlehey...Adam
Sandler - all these great people that helped me get on Saturday Night
Live, and it was the best! I was a drama major, but towards the end,
I was doing more comedy.
BBB:
Can you tell us a little bit about your upcoming movie based on your
character Mary Katherine Gallagher?
Molly:
It's called "Superstar!" It's about her being in high school and with
her grandmother. Just simple little stories...she's got a crush on this
guy and she wants to be a star.
BBB:
When did you come up with the armpit thing?
Molly:
I think I was on vacation in Florida with a friend and my sister, and
I just remember discovering that smell for the first time. I was about
14. I remember going, "Oooh, I like that smell. It's crazy that a lady
could produce such an odor! I want to smell it again!"
BBB:
The antics that you do with Mary Katherine are wild. Do you ever hurt
yourself during the stunts?
Molly:
No I haven't, thank goodness. I where pads and stuff. I've gotten more
careful, I stretch more and I have stunt people I work with. But sometimes
I get scared, because I really go for it when it's live. I get so crazy
and excited being in front of a live audience that I forget.
BBB:
I also just love it when you do Meredith Vierira from "The View."
Molly:
Thank
you. I went on the show on April Fools day, and she is the nicest woman.
She's exactly how she is on the show. [Molly crosses her legs and goes
into the Vierira trance] She loves being a mom and a wife. She loves
wearing pantsuits. Having a morning job and picking her kids up. She's
just dee-licious! [back to the real Molly] You just smell coffee when
you talk to her. Lovely lady.
BBB:
Do you have any other projects coming up besides your movie.
Molly:
I do yes, but I just can't talk about another movie I might be doing.
It's just not official as of yet.
BBB:
You could tell me, but you'd have to kill me right?
Molly:
Right!
