BBB:
After your sweet but freaky role in Being John Malkovich, how was it
playing such a tough chick in this movie?
Cameron:
It was fun and it was a real challenge. It was just a great experience
to try on different shoes.
BBB:
After looking so hideous in Being John Malkovich, it must have been
a treat to look beautiful again.
Cameron:
Yeah to have the blonde hair and look great again was fun – but I'm
kinda in the middle – a little of both – a blend or mixture of the two.
I felt it was important for Christine to look the way she did so she
didn't come off as a man. I wanted her femininity to be apparent and
that she wasn't afraid of it. The way she presented herself was well
thought out because she's in a tough business. It's strategic as well
as fulfilling her own needs as a woman.
BBB:
Speaking of looks, didn't you have brown hair not too long ago?
Cameron:
You're right. I had to dye it back to blonde for Charlie‘s Angels. How
long did it take yours?
BBB:
I'm not telling!
Cameron:
Well it took me about 24 hours!
BBB:
You’re not the kind of actress that gives into blockbuster movies, are
you?
Cameron:
I don’t feel pressure for that. I don’t feel like my next movie
should be the lead in a romantic comedy. I don’t feel that pressure
at all.
BBB:
What about money? What if they offer you a ton of it?
Cameron:
[shakes her head] I’ve got sooo much money – I don’t need any money!
It’s all relative of course, but I would never have dreamed that I would
have this kind of money...so why do I need more?
BBB:
But can you say “no” to a $15 million check just like that?
Cameron:
Yes. Yes, very easily.
BBB:
Omigod. You’re a saint.
Cameron:
It’s a matter of what I’m getting paid to do. What do they expect from
me? When they’re paying me $15 million, they’re not paying me to act.
They’re buying me for what they want. They’re planning on putting that
movie out on such a scale that they’re going to make so much more money
than that, that they’re just throwing me a biscuit.
BBB:
Were you scared to meet Al Pacino?
Cameron:
Yes I was nervous. I mean, it’s Al Pacino! He has such a strong presence
and is incredibly patient.
BBB:
What about you in those locker room scenes?
Cameron:
Yeah, what about those locker room scenes?! Next time I gotta look down,
but eye to eye contact is the best way to handle those scenes.
BBB:
We know your film career is outstanding, but how’s your personal life?
Cameron:
[jokes] OUTSTANDING!
