JAKOB
THE LIAR For a comedian, Robin Williams has the worst timing. Releasing a comedic Holocaust flick after audiences have had their fill isn‘t good. Life is Beautiful was amazing, but face it, not an easy sell to the public. Jakob is neither lively nor beautiful. Williams plays a widower who falls upon news that the Russian troops are close to liberating the death camps. Add a little girl and you get bupkis. 2.5 Martinis |

JULIEN
DONKEY-BOY Whew! This hoofer really needs to be stuffed! After enduring a grueling hour of watching Nut-Boy (Ewen Bremmer) knock-up his sister (Chloe Sevigny), I walked out of the damn screening. If this is art, I'd rather have my teeth scraped. It's basically blurred shots of an insane family rambling about nothing. Disturbed director Harmony Korine calls it "new cinema", but Betty calls it "crap". 0 Martinis |
